January’s Community Gathering is being held to elect new officers for the Fort Worth Community for 2017. We need you here to participate in that function and to give your opinion as to whether this community continues or closes or merges with another group.
Willing officers will need to be elected in order for the Fort Worth Emmaus community to continue. If you want to see this community do something spectacular then participate in it as an officer and lead and guide it. We have about 308 members and only about 10 attend regular meetings and it is the same 10 over and over. So this Friday night we will vote and decide on continuing, closing or merging with another established group.
You can be there in person or you can email me with your vote by Thursday January 19,2017 and I will bring your vote to the meeting. Also, tell me if you would be an officer if asked. Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Community Gathering will be held on Friday, January 20 at Meadowbrook United Methodist Church, 3900 Meadowbrook Drive, Fort Worth, Texas. Fellowship will begin at 7:00 PM and the Community Meeting will begin at 8:00 PM. We will try to be through by 9:00.
I would also encourage everyone to bring their favorite snack to share with our Community. After all, it’s Emmaus and we all know that there should always be food, right? Also, remember to bring your Purple Worship Book, Lanyard and a friend or two

The Fort Emmaus Community exists to help Christians grow in their relationship with Christ and to become better leaders in their churches using the model of the Walk to Emmaus developed by the Upper Room.
The Walk to Emmaus is not limited to members of the United Methodist Church, but provides spiritual formation for anyone who seeks to grow in his or her relationship with Christ.
A sponsor helps an interested individual through the registration process and throughout the entire the three day weekend. While the sponsor does not normally attend the Walk, he or she does transport the pilgrim to and from the site.
The Walk to Emmaus does not end after the weekend. Following the walk, each person is encouraged to participate in weekly Reunion Group activities and monthly community meetings called Gatherings.
IMPORTANT CHRYSALIS NEWS: The Central Texas Emmaus Conference has restarted the Chrysalis three-day weekends for teens. More information concerning the Chrysalis flights will be posted as it becomes available.
